Educational Visits and Trips

School trips play a powerful role in helping students feel that they truly belong within their school community.

By stepping outside the classroom and sharing new experiences together, pupils have the opportunity to build friendships in a more relaxed and collaborative environment. Whether exploring historical sites, taking part in outdoor challenges, or visiting museums, these shared moments encourage teamwork, curiosity, and mutual support.

For many students, trips become some of their most memorable school experiences, strengthening relationships with peers and teachers alike. They help pupils see one another in new ways, celebrate different strengths, and develop a deeper sense of connection—both to their classmates and to the wider world around them.

Students at Greyfriars have the opportunity to participate in numerous educational visits and trips allowing them to flourish both individually and collectively.

We take advantage of the wealth of treasures on our doorstep as well as offering students the chance to travel further afield in both the UK and abroad. Examples of recent and forthcoming trips include:

  • students recently visiting western Kenya to work alongside the charity Nasio in the rural community of Musanda.
  • Voco Oxford Thames Hotel and CareersFest at the Kassam Stadium as part of our careers programme
  • UCAS Discovery, ExCel, London for our sixth form students
  • The Ashmolean Museum (art), the Battlefields in Ypres, Belgium (history) and various geography fieldwork trips to support our curriculum
  • Battle the Bugs, supporting STEM
  • Various local competitions, such as the 'Made in Oxford Challenge at the Westgate Shopping Centre for our business students, It All Adds Up Maths and Going for Gold competitions, Oxford University and the Mock Trials at Oxford Magistrates' Court
  • The Pilgrims of Rome trip
